We decided to have defenses that have a fire/cool down timer. They fire if:
- the fire timer is full (fireDelay)
- there is a bug in range/in its attack area
Static defenses are set by the player first clicking on the wall on which to place them, then choosing the direction/area that she wishes this defense to target with another click.
Magnifying glasses are placed only by clicking on the wall where they are desired, since they have a "circular" range.

Bug spray: Canister which sprays a puff of insecticide in a "V" of tiles (covers the tile directly in front of it, the tile in front of that tile, and the two tiles on each side of this farther out tile, for a sum total of 4 covered tiles)

Hoses: Sprays a stream of water at the user chosen length (between 1 and 6 tiles about)The water flushes down any bugs who are on the stream to the end of the stream, so that it acts as a "push". If more bugs are in the path of the hose or at the end of the spray, the bugs are NOT flushed down. Thus, a large mass of bugs will render hoses ineffective. Does not actually harm bugs. Mainly used for funneling around the enemies to desired spots (such as in into a bug bomb's area of effect). Gives game its puzzle qualities.

Magnifying glasses: Fires a beam of directed sunlight at a pest when they're within range. Does heavy damage to bugs. Most expensive defense

Scarecrows/bug bombs: Throws a "bomb" at a statically specified area that explodes for an area effect. Roughly like a catapult from other RTS games. The bug bomb explosion is likely similar to a bug spray except that it is just one puff over a cicrular area.
