Terrains
Terrain influences where the pests can move to and where the player can build walls.
Terrain types:
Plains: Grassy area. Default tile and likely most abundant on the map. Dead grass is the default, but living green grass grows around walls and rocks to emphasize that walls are good and to add visual variety to the map.
- Pests: allowed
- Walls: allowed
- Defenses: allowed
Garden: Veggie patch that gives player money. Found in enclosed wall rings. only springs up over plains, not other types. Area of garden determines funds given to player. reverts back to older terrain when ring of wall is breached. Programmers' note: gardens are not treated like other terrains and are a subclass of the Sprite class.
- Pests: NEVER in the same area
- Walls: allowed (player may wish to set up walls behind the current ring as reinforcement rather than gaining the funds from the garden)
- Defenses: allowed
Rocks: a pile of small stones or a single larger rock. Can be used to augment walls to seal off areas for garden creation.
- Pests: not allowed
- Walls: not allowed
- Defenses: not allowed
Marsh: Grass and water. Nothing is allowed on a marsh tile.Note that both rocks and marshes serve the same purpose of not allowing either walls or pests on them. Initially, the two types were merely to help add aesthetic diversity to maps. Marshes, however, will not count as sealing off an area for garden creation if walls are built adjacent to it.
- Pests: not allowed
- Walls: not allowed
- Defenses: not allowed
